Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What markets does BWJ Graphics serve?

    • Primarily, tooling manufacturing for the flexographic packaging market. This includes steel rule cutting dies for the corrugated industry and printing plates for the label, plastic bag and corrugated industries. We also provide service to “direct” customers—making it easier for the companies to control their own graphics and not have to work with a “middle man” for their tooling.
  2. How many jobs does BWJ process at one time?

    • On average, we produce 6,000 jobs annually. That is roughly 500 jobs per month. Each project is handled with the utmost care—delivering the right product on time, every time.
  3. Why are rubber plates so rare and not available through many manufacturers?

    • Most manufacturers in the flexographic printing plate industry stopped using old rubber molding presses in the last 15 years, yet rubber plates are still a style that many customers need. In addition, with our ability to make rubber band-it quik type and channel type, many of our competitors are our clients as well.
  4. What is the largest manufactured printing plate that BWJ Graphics can produce?

    • Plates can be produced up to 52” X 80”.  We have the ability to produce larger printing plates than many of our competitors.
  5. How do you make high quality cutting dies for customers?

    • We combine the use of a laser diesaw and automated steel rule benders through our Artios CAD system to manufacture quality rotary and flat cutting dies. The laser diesaw cuts the design into high-grade dieboards, while the automated steel rule benders process the steel rule, bending and notching it in accordance with the CAD file. Upon completion of these steps, the steel rule is inserted into the dieboard and then the cutting die is rubbered with standard or waterjet cut rubber to meet the customer’s specifications.
  6. What areas do your field and sales representatives cover?

    • BWJ representatives make weekly visits to customers in Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma. However, our clients stretch across the nation.
  7. What does your typical customer relationship consist of?

    • Our customer relationships vary. We work with many customers on a weekly basis and others every 1-2 years depending on their needs. Some customers we’ve had since the 60’s. However, each customer, no matter the length of the relationship or scale of the project, receives the highest quality of customer service.
